I’m a big believer in New Year’s resolutions. I like to reflect on the closing year – to celebrate the successes, and better understand the things that didn’t go as well as I had hoped. What do I want to achieve in the coming year, and what can I do differently to make those dreams a reality?

How often do we notice that when we set a goal for ourselves and follow through on it, we gain confidence? I actually find that each time I do this my confidence increases exponentially, and as a result I find myself succeeding more and more often – the more difficult the task, the greater the degree of self-assurance generated.

To start off the new year, we might think about just one thing we could change that would make a significant difference in our health and well-being, and perhaps in the health and well-being of the people most important to us. And why not make it a big one? We often impose limitations on ourselves that simply don’t have to be there. Remember, courage isn’t the absence of fear – it’s taking action in spite of it!

In good health, and best wishes for a wonderful 2016!
